Chinese Ribbon Dancing originated over 2000 years ago during the Han Dynasty performed as a simple folk dance for good luck. The ribbons and choreography are precisely synchronized so that the ribbons form patterns and designs in the air that are captivating to watch. The Ribbon Dance is performed in all kinds of celebrations, especially Chinese New Year. In this class, students will make their own ribbon wand and learn the basic moves of the beautiful Chinese ribbon dance.
Our class instructor, Yan Huss, has been performing for over 25 years and has been a dance instructor at the Twin Cities Chinese Dance Center since 2012.
